Today more than ever, homeowners are replacing their old worn out windows with energy efficient replacement windows. Poorly insulated windows can attribute to 25 percent of a building’s heating and cooling loads.
As a homeowner, it is just as important to know what type of window spacer material is being used on the insulating glass unit as it is to know what type of glass package (or glazing) is going into the window. The type of spacer material in your windows can make or break your investment!
In order to overcome the thermal inefficiency of conventional aluminum window spacers, a new type of spacer product called warm-edge technology has evolved in the window industry. French Doors
Create inviting spaces when you add French doors to your project. French doors are used as both entry patio doors and as interior doors that separate two spaces. These doors are popular because they allow some privacy, while allowing a visual connection between two spaces. Patio French doors often open onto a deck or a backyard patio, and may be used with a screen door system. Interior French doors are often found in the entryway between the dining room and the kitchen or living room. The doors allow light to flow between the spaces. Curtains and blinds are sometimes installed, just as with an exterior window, to provide more privacy. A divided glass design is the most popular.
Fiberglass Doors
The fiberglass door from Codel is virtually maintenance free and offers a limited lifetime warranty. Unlike other brands of fiberglass doors that offer only wood edges, the Codel fiberglass door is manufactured with composite edges as well as composite top and bottom rails, leaving no exposed wood. The Codel fiberglass door has a clean appearance, with radius mortised hinge preps instead of swiping completely through the door edge. With the harsh Pacific Northwest climate, we believe this all-composite fiberglass door will give you years of satisfaction.
